Electronic Fare System

The CCRTA fixed route buses are now welcoming boarding passengers with an electronic farebox system. Along with additional options for our riders, the new system will enable us to better serve the public. There is no change to our DART service.

Board with cash - Bills and coins will be fed into the farebox similar to a vending machine. As before, the farebox will not issue change, but riders who don’t have the exact change will receive a change ticket that can be used for subsequent rides.

One-day unlimited ride passes - Riders can purchase a magnetic stripe ticket for $6 as you board. As before, these passes are not transferable but are good for rides throughout the entire calendar day.

31-day pass – The Monthly 31-Day Pass gives passengers unlimited riding privileges over 31-days for $60.  The cost is $30 for senior and disabled riders. These passes are activated the first time you board and are good for unlimited rides for 31 days. The pass expires at the end of the 31 days and is not transferable. If you commute daily, this is an excellent option. These passes can be purchased in advance by calling the CCRTA at 508-775-8504.

CCRTA Charlie Card - These plastic cards are available at the Hyannis Transportation Center. You can add stored value at the P&B ticketing counter, over the phone at the CCRTA, or online at capecodrta.org (see the link to the MBTA below). The Charlie Card acts like a debit card – it reduces the value each time you board. The cards are made of durable plastic.
